Images of Kampot #7

The morning walks continue although now I have bought a bicycle too so am getting to go on some longer trips around Kampot.

Both photos taken with iPhone 3GS and once again framed and touched up with the app Camera+.

I have found that using techy tools to motivate me to exercise has actually encouraged me to maintain a regular routine. I was recommended a GPS tracking app by the guy who runs the popular Travelfish website. It’s called EveryTrail and it maps your journey, logs your time & distance and then you can save the trip and share or save on the web.  I have found it to be a great tool. Here is my trip from this morning:

It’s a strange juxtaposition – pictures that seem to my (Dorset) eyes to come from another world – and an everyday consideration of an interesting app.

Even though we are living in the third world we still have access to the App Store . . . luckily.

Dorset it is certainly not. Just as beautiful though.

Loving all the pics simon – why don’t you treat yourself to a 35mm film camera and then you would actually be able to print all your gorgeous shots. I can recommend an Olympus OM1 – you can pick them up cheap with lenses, they are sturdy, easy to use and look very cool……

I have a 35mm. A Sony something. It is a bit bulky though to take on a walk or bike ride.

You can print iPhone pictures although not the same as a big ass MP camera. I also like that you can play with the photo while sat on your sofa or in a taxi without having to get out your laptop.

What about a small digital camera. Any recommendations?

Yes, The Canon S95 is amazing – bit pricy – it’s about £320 here, but you could probably get it much cheaper in your part of the world. But the best thing about it is that’s is small, easily fits in your pocket and takes great pics. Also has HDR setting which is great.
